When did they build the Field of Dreams?

In 1988, Universal Pictures built a baseball diamond on two farms a few miles outside Dyersville, Iowa, for the 1989 film Field of Dreams. When production completed, the baseball diamond created for the movie was left behind. Over the years, the site has become a popular destination for baseball fans and movie lovers alike.

The character of Archibald “Moonlight” Graham was based on an actual baseball player with the same name. The player Moonlight Graham actually only played in one major league game, for the New York Giants, and never had an at bat. He did, however, play in the field for one inning.
