As we sleep, our mind is incredibly active. It is during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep that we experience most of our dreams. Dreams are caused by electrical activity in the brain, which is influenced by a variety of factors. These can include our emotions, memories, and what’s going on in our lives.

We don’t really know exactly how or why dreams happen, but there are some theories out there. One popular theory is that dreams are a way for our brains to process information and sort through memories. Dreams have also been linked to creative problem solving – some people say they’ve come up with their best ideas after a good night’s sleep!

Why do we dream?

Dreaming is a fascinating topic that has long baffled scientists and researchers. Despite all of the scientific inquiry, we still don’t have a solid answer for why people dream. Some of the most notable theories are that dreaming helps us process memories and better understand our emotions, also providing a way to express what we want or to practice facing our challenges. Whatever the reason for dreaming, it is clear that it is a complex and integral part of human experience.

Dreams can be a great way to process the events of our lives and sort through our feelings. They can be highly meaningful, because they often deal with the personal conflicts and emotional struggles that we are experiencing in our daily lives. Alan Eiser, a psychologist and clinical lecturer at the University of Michigan Medical School, says that dreams can help us to better understand ourselves and our relationships.
