I used to have really vivid dreams and would often remember them upon waking, but these days it seems like I can’t remember my dreams at all. Why is this happening and what does it mean?

There could be a few reasons why you can’t remember your dreams anymore. Maybe you’re not getting enough sleep, or perhaps you’re taking medications that suppress dream recall. If you want to start remembering your dreams again, try keeping a dream journal by your bed and writing down any dreams you have when you wake up in the morning.

Why am I suddenly unable to remember my dreams?

It is normal to forget most of our dreams soon after waking up. Our forgetfulness is generally attributed to neurochemical conditions in the brain that occur during REM sleep, a phase of sleep characterized by rapid eye movements and dreaming.

There is a lot of scientific research that supports the idea that forgetting your dreams is normal and healthy for your brain. Scientists also know that women are more likely to remember their dreams than men. This is likely because women have more active brains during REM sleep, which is when most dreams occur. So if you forget your dreams, don’t worry – it’s totally normal!
