Many people experience dreamWe all have had dreams where we feel like we are being chased or attacked. Dreams like these are actually quite common, and usually occur during the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) stage of sleep. Though we are not consciously aware of it, our body is paralyzed during REM sleep in order to prevent us from physically acting out our dreams. So even though it may feel like we are fighting in our dreams, our bodies are actually still and at rest.

There is no definitive answer to this question, as it is likely different for everyone. Some people may find that they cannot fight in their dreams because they are not used to being in confrontational situations, or because they are not comfortable with violence. Others may find that they are unable to fight in their dreams because they are unable to let go of their inhibitions and tap into their more primal instincts. Ultimately, why someone cannot fight in their dreams is a personal matter that can only be answered by that individual.

Why can’t I punch hard in my dreams?

When you try to throw a punch and can’t hit, or if you try to run from an attacker but your legs won’t move, what you are feeling is the natural paralysis of your body during REM sleep. This paralysis is caused by the brainstem sending signals to the muscles to relax and prevent you from acting out your dreams.

It’s interesting to note that our bodies enter a state of self-induced paralysis during sleep. Any active action we try to make during sleep is actually a real action we are trying in our bed, but it is suppressed by this paralysis. So when we try to punch in a sleep and feel that it’s very hard, it’s because our movements are mostly disabled.

Why are my punches so weak
