Who owns the Field of Dreams game
Unfortunately, it looks like one of those plans won’t be coming to fruition.
Thomas, the former MLB star and current owner of the Field of Dreams, told the Associated Press that the site will not be hosting any Major League Baseball games in 2023 due to construction.
“It was always our hope and dream to bring MLB back to the Field of Dreams in 2023,” Thomas said. “However, due to the construction schedule for our planned multi-use sports complex, that is no longer a possibility.”
The Field of Dreams, which was made famous by the 1989 movie of the same name, hosted an MLB game in August of 2010 between the White Sox and the Yankees. That game drew a sellout crowd of nearly 40,000 people.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this note.
Tonight’s Field of Dreams game may be the last one. Over the next few years, investors are planning on overhauling the iconic Dyersville, IA movie site. Construction will prevent a match from taking place in 2023–and MLB is not committing to future games.
I have so many fond memories of this special place. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to play on this field. I will treasure tonight’s game and the memories we made.
